Manhunt Underway For Father Accused Of Stabbing Daughter To Death And Injuring Wife In Kiambu Domestic Dispute

Authorities have initiated a manhunt for a 45-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing his 16-year-old daughter and injuring his wife during a domestic altercation in Mwihoko, Kiambu County.

According to a police report reviewed by The Kenya Times, the harrowing incident occurred when the suspect returned home after leaving due to ongoing marital conflicts.

The confrontation escalated when the man violently knocked on the door, prompting his wife, Teresia Wairimu, to open it.

He then attempted to take their three-year-old son, leading to a struggle with Wairimu.

In a fit of rage, the man pulled out a kitchen knife, stabbing his wife in the head before turning on their daughter, who was crying for help, and inflicting a fatal wound to her back.

“He then fled the scene, leaving behind the murder weapon and his unharmed son,” the police report detailed.

Neighbors quickly rushed the victims to Ruiru Subcounty Hospital; however, the daughter was pronounced dead upon arrival, while the mother is currently receiving treatment for her injuries.

A blood-stained knife, believed to be used in the attack, was recovered from the crime scene.

Investigating officers later visited the hospital, where they found the deceased’s body with a stab wound, while the mother was being treated for her injuries.

The body of the girl has since been moved to the Thika Level 5 Hospital morgue pending an autopsy.

In a separate incident, police are investigating the mysterious disappearance of 28-year-old Lilian Nyambura Mbugua, who vanished from her mother’s home in Gikono, Kabati, Murang’a County, just days before Christmas.

After visiting for the festivities, Lilian went for a stroll on December 23 and did not return, raising concern among her family.

They reported her disappearance to the Gikono police post and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenol when attempts to reach her failed, and both her mobile phones were found left behind in the house.
