Later on, she performed in Jesus Christ Superstar, the Australian version as Mary Magdalene from 1973 to February 1974.

Music

After the success and tenure of Jesus Christ Superstar, she became a member of the Daly-Wilson Big Band, a jazz orchestra. The band released an album, Daly-Wilson Big Band in 1975. 

Marcia Hines covered “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”  and “You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans?” songs on the album. The band went on tour in Australia, United States, Europe and Soviet Union.

Wizard Records

Afterwards, she signed a contract with Wizard Records in July 1974. Under the record label, she released her first single, “Fire and Rain”, a cover of James Taylor’s song. The cover song topped Australia’s Singles chart at number 17 in May 1975.

From 1976 to 1979, she released five top ten singles. “You” was her most popular hit in October 1977 reaching number two on the Australian Singles Chart.

Subsequently, her albums, Marcia Hines was number four in January 1976, Shining was number three in November 1976, Ladies and Gentlemen was number six in August 1977 and Marcia Hines Live Across Australia was number seven in March 1978.

Midnight Label

After a while, she signed with Midnight label. She released “Your Love Still Brings Me to My Knees” which was among the top ten in 1981.

The following year, her former label released the Greatest Hits album compilation and it was number two in January 1982.

Afterwards, she collaborated with the English-Australian singer Jon English to release an album, Jokers and Queens in July 1982.

She went on tour and thereafter renewed her contract with Midnight label. After a while, she announced the Right Here and Now album in October 1994.
