A well-known Ghanaian media personality is currently in police custody after being arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman, an incident that has sparked widespread outrage on social media.
Christford Affadu Danful, popularly known as Ekow Black, was arrested after a disturbing video surfaced online showing him repeatedly assaulting a woman who appeared helpless during the attack.
The footage quickly went viral, triggering public condemnation and calls for swift action by law enforcement agencies.

The Ghana Police Service, through its Criminal Investigation Department (CID), confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect was apprehended just hours after the video began circulating widely.
According to police sources, Danful was arrested on Thursday, January 15, 2026, following an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team.
Nairobi News understands that the arrest was prompted by a public outcry, with many social media users demanding justice for the victim and accountability for the suspect.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect and the woman had previously lived together and allegedly shared a troubled relationship.
Police say the two had a history of disagreements that reportedly escalated from verbal altercations to physical confrontations over time.
Danful is currently being held in lawful custody as investigations continue.
Police have indicated that he is expected to be arraigned in court to face charges related to assault, in accordance with Ghanaian law.
