Many people know Janet Museveni, the wife of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, as Uganda’s First Lady.
However, not many are aware that the Ugandan President is said to have another woman in his life, one who has remained out of the public eye for years.
According to sources close to Uganda’s State House, Yoweri Museveni allegedly has another wife, Enid Kukunda, with whom he shares children.

Enid Kukunda is widely reported to be the alleged second wife or long-time companion of President Museveni, though there has never been any official confirmation or public record of a legal marriage between them.
Described as a tall, graceful, middle-aged woman from Rubabo County in Rukungiri, Western Uganda, and believed to be of the Ankole tribe ,Kukunda is said to have once worked at State House, where she is rumored to have met the President.
Despite her connections to power, she has maintained a remarkably private life away from the public spotlight.
Enid Kukunda is said to be the mother of two of Museveni’s children:
- Dr. Angela Nagasha Kakishozi, a medical doctor who married the son of General Henry Tumukunde in 2022.
- Joel, an engineer.
Kukunda reportedly made a rare public appearance during her daughter’s traditional introduction ceremony, where she openly expressed affection for the father of her children.

Nairobi News has learnt that the alleged relationship between Yoweri Museveni and Enid Kukunda is said to have begun while the President was already married to First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni, sparking long-standing speculation that he was unfaithful.
Over the years, reports of Museveni’s alleged relationships have occasionally surfaced, often drawing public attention and sparking controversy, sometimes to the embarrassment of the First Lady herself.
