Met: Light Rain and Extreme Low Temperatures Expected in Some Areas

Some parts of the country will receive light rainfall, while temperatures are expected to drop below 10°C in certain areas, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department.

In a statement released on Monday, the weatherman forecasted that daytime temperatures will rise above 30°C in most parts of the country from February 25 to March 3, 2025.

“A few areas might experience light showers, including Mount Kenya, the Coastal region, Tana River, and Taita Taveta,” the statement read.

Central Kenya, the Rift Valley, South-Eastern Lowlands, and the Lake Victoria Basin will experience temperatures ranging between 25°C and 30°C. However, parts of Central Kenya, the Rift Valley, and areas around Mount Kilimanjaro will see temperatures drop below 10°C.

The public has been advised to take precautions, including staying cool during the day, keeping warm at night, and avoiding unnecessary exposure to the sun due to high UV rays. The department also urged Kenyans to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
