Fans who missed Michael, the blockbuster biographical film based on the life of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, will soon be able to watch it from the comfort of their homes after Lionsgate confirmed its streaming debut.
The Antoine Fuqua-directed movie, which became one of the biggest films of 2026, is set to begin streaming on STARZ starting August 14, marking the next phase of its successful release following a strong theatrical run and digital release.
A massive box office success
Released in theaters in April 2026, Michael exceeded expectations by becoming one of the year’s biggest global hits.
The film grossed more than $580 million worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing musical biopics in history.
The movie follows Michael Jackson’s extraordinary rise from his childhood days with the Jackson 5 to becoming the world’s biggest pop superstar during the Bad era.
Jaafar Jackson praised for portraying his famous uncle
One of the film’s biggest talking points has been the performance of Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s real-life nephew and the son of Jermaine Jackson.
The first-time actor won praise from critics and fans alike for capturing his uncle’s voice, dance moves, stage presence and mannerisms.
Many viewers described his portrayal as remarkably authentic.

Subscribers will be able to stream the film beginning August 14, while viewers without a STARZ subscription can continue renting or purchasing it through digital retailers.
