A middle-aged guy was found dead and brutally mutilated after being run over by a train in Nairobi’s Kibera slums.
Police said they were called to the Kibera 42 area when residents noticed the man’s dismembered body on the railway line.
According to authorities, he suffered multiple brain injuries and had his legs amputated during the Tuesday event.
It was ultimately determined that a commuter train was traveling from Nairobi Central Railway Station to Limuru Railway Station when it crushed the victim.
Witnesses stated that the man was lying across the railway line as the train approached.
The motive for the occurrence is unknown.
Police said they are looking into probable suicides. The body was transferred to the mortuary for identification and autopsy.
A minor was burnt to death in Kaptumo village, Nandi County.
The minor was four months old. His six-year-old sister escaped death when she went outside to play with other children.
The children’s mother stated that she went to harvest tea in the Kamarini region on Tuesday morning, leaving the toddler with a burning candle.
The oldest sister, who was six years old at the time, went outside to play and later noticed the house on fire and alerted authorities.
The residence was utterly destroyed, with the baby boy charred beyond recognition and nothing salvageable, according to investigators.
According to police, the candle that was left burning is accused of starting the incident. The child’s remains were transferred to a nearby morgue.
