A three-year-old minor was killed in a fire incident in Kiarutara, Gatanga, Muranga County.
Police said the incident happened on Sunday evening in Itikarua village, Gatakaini Sub-location, Ngambuya location.
This was after a house where the baby boy was sleeping caught fire.
His remains were picked up after the fire had been contained and moved to the mortuary for postmortem.
Police said that the cause of the fire is not yet known and investigations are ongoing.
Elsewhere, police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a house long after the incident in Kibichoi, Kiambu County.
Police said neighbours had complained of a foul smell from his house before the body was discovered on Sunday.
He was identified as Daniel Kingara, 57.
His body was found on the bed and decomposed. It is not clear when he died, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary for autopsy.
In a different location, police said they were investigating the recovery of human bones in Kalamba, Matiliku, Makueni County.
Police said the bones were found in Nzaui Hill forest. A team of police officers who visited the scene said there were male clothes near the scene.
The bones were later moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.
Meanwhile, three people died in separate drowning incidents reported on Sunday. Police said the incidents were reported in Muranga, Makueni, and Machakos Counties. This has been attributed to flooding caused by heavy rains being experienced in several parts of the country.
At the weekend alone, more than 25 people were reported drowned in separate incidents, police said.
The floods have displaced dozens of people who need immediate help. Furthermore, the government has also been running a campaign to ensure safety of those threatened by the floods especially in the Tana Delta.
