New CCTV footage reveals final hours of man who fell to his death from Kilimani Apartment

Newly obtained CCTV footage has shed light on the final hours of a 25-year-old man who died after falling from the 14th floor of an apartment building in Nairobi’s Kilimani area.

The deceased, identified as Festus Oromo, was seen in what appears to be a physical confrontation with a woman inside an Airbnb unit shortly before his death.

Oromo reportedly checked into the apartment on November 28, beginning what appeared to be a normal day. Surveillance video shows him arriving and entering room B1406.

At approximately 4:19 p.m., a man dressed in black believed to be a delivery driver approaches the door, hands over a package to Oromo, and leaves shortly afterward.

The events that followed remain unclear. However, at around 1:06 a.m., a man identified as Patrick is seen exiting the apartment. The footage shows nothing unusual at that moment.

Patrick, who has since been arrested, lingers briefly outside before re-entering. Seven minutes later, he emerges again, this time accompanied by another man believed to be Oromo.

The two appear friendly; Oromo has his hand on Patrick’s shoulders, while Patrick, carrying a brown bag and a drink, walks beside him.

After they enter the apartment once more, Oromo soon returns to the doorway where Patrick is standing.

The pair chat briefly before leaving together, still appearing in good spirits.

Moments later, Patrick is seen again now wearing a black vest, shorts, and sandals as he heads toward the 14th-floor lift.

At around 1:15 a.m., Festus returns alone.

He knocks on the apartment door, walks toward the lift area, and re-enters the camera’s view a minute later. Another minute passes before he enters the apartment.

Inside, a struggle erupts between Oromo and a woman, and the door closes as the altercation continues out of view.

What transpired next inside the apartment remains uncertain, but parking lot CCTV captures the tragic moment Oromo’s body falls and lands on the roof of a parked vehicle.

Police have since arrested two suspects, including the woman seen in the footage.

They will remain in custody for 14 days as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations continues its probe into the incident.
