Notorious Burglary Suspect Arrested In Narok, Stolen Items Recovered


Police in Narok have arrested a notorious burglary suspect linked to a string of housebreaking and theft incidents in Narok Town, following a targeted operation conducted on the night of June 17, 2025.

Acting on credible intelligence, officers from Narok Police Station, led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS), raided a residence in the Majengo area, where the suspect was reportedly hiding.

During the operation, police recovered a cache of stolen property including: Three 6kg gas cylinders,Two generators,Several electronic appliances.

The suspect, whose identity is being withheld pending formal charges, was positively identified from CCTV footage related to several burglary cases that have recently plagued neighborhoods in Narok Town.

According to authorities, the man is a repeat offender, having been recently released from prison after serving time for similar offenses.

Police say he has been under surveillance since his release.

“We acted swiftly based on a reliable tip-off from members of the public. The suspect is now in custody and will be charged in court soon,” said a senior officer at Narok Police Station.

The recovered items have been secured as evidence, and investigators are working to identify and notify the rightful owners.

 

Police thanked local residents for their cooperation, crediting community vigilance for aiding the arrest.

“This is a clear example of what we can achieve when the public works hand-in-hand with law enforcement,” added the officer.

 “We urge residents to continue reporting any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.”

The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court later this week as the investigation continues.

The arrest brings relief to residents of Narok Town, who have been living in fear due to a spike in burglaries over the past few months.

Police have assured the public that they are intensifying patrols and intelligence-led operations to ensure safety and deter repeat offenders.
