NPS Issues Traffic Advisory Ahead Of CHAN Quarterfinals At Kasarani

The National Police Service (NPS) has issued a traffic advisory for Nairobi motorists ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) quarterfinals, set to take place on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

In a public statement, NPS announced that temporary road closures and diversions will be implemented to manage traffic congestion around the stadium and along key routes, particularly the Thika Superhighway.

Key Traffic Diversions:

  • Motorists from Nairobi CBD heading towards Ruiru, Juja, and Thika via Thika Road are advised to use Kiambu Road at Exit 4. A roadblock will be in place at Muthaiga to manage the flow.
  • Those travelling on Thika Superhighway towards Mwiki are advised to use the alternative route: Ruaka – Baba Ndogo – Lucky Summer – Nairobi River – Mwiki.
  • Vehicles from Thika, Juja, and Ruiru heading to the CBD should use the Northern Bypass or Kiambu Road. A roadblock will be stationed at the Ruiru Interchange.
  • Motorists from Githurai heading to Nairobi CBD are urged to take the Githurai 44 – Kiambu Road route.

Fans travelling from the city centre to Kasarani Stadium for the Harambee Stars vs Madagascar quarterfinal match without official vehicle access passes are required to use the service lanes at Exit 7 and Exit 8.
