Oga Obinna laments as his HR manager allocates him Sh50k salary

Popular content creator and entrepreneur Oga Obinna has once again stirred reactions online after sharing a video in which he laments over a surprising salary allocation by his own HR managers.

In the clip that has since gone viral, the creative is seen engaging in what appears to be a serious exchange with a professional HR company he had hired to manage staff within his Oga Obinna Studios brand.

The discussion quickly takes an unexpected turn when the HR manager informs him that, according to their assessment, Obinna would be earning a monthly salary of Sh50,000.

Being the owner, founder and director of the company, Obinna appeared visibly uncomfortable with the figure.

In the video, he is seen negotiating for better pay, questioning how he could be placed on such a salary while being responsible for the overall running of the brand.

Obinna went on to outline the many roles he plays within the company, noting that he oversees all their shows, manages creative direction, represents the brand in public engagements and is involved in nearly every major decision.

He insisted that the workload and responsibility he carries could not reasonably translate to a Sh50,000 salary.

Throughout the exchange, Obinna seemed dissatisfied and clearly uneasy with the decision, at times struggling to hide his frustration.

Oga Obinna insisted that a salary of Sh1 million per month would do for him instead of the measley Sh50,000.

“Aki ni ukweli HR wanakuwanga wa kampuni 🙆🏿‍♂️🙆🏿‍♂️🙆🏿‍♂️🙆🏿‍♂️🙆🏿‍♂️🙆🏿‍♂️🙆🏿‍♂️🙆🏿‍♂️ Yaani ile kazi yote nafanya hapo Obinna TV Studios ntalipwa 50🙆🏿‍♂️. Si afazali nifanye bure vile nimekuwa nikifanya toka mwanzo. 1M per month ni kitu ngumu kulipa mtu🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️💁🏿💁🏿💁🏿,” he captioned the video.

However, the female HR expert calmly explained that the move was part of a wider cost-cutting strategy.

According to the HR manager, the company needed to reduce expenses and restructure its operations, and they believed it was wise to start with top management as a show of commitment and discipline.

Nairobi News understands that the video, or rather the exchange between Obinna and the HR manager, was primarily created for content.

Even so, it sparked massive excitement online, with many netizens flooding the comment section with mixed reactions.

Some found the situation hilarious, while others praised Obinna for allowing professionals to independently evaluate his company, even when the outcome was not in his favour.

Many fans also noted that the skit subtly highlighted the realities of business management, where even company owners may have to make personal sacrifices to keep operations running smoothly.

The video has since continued to circulate widely on social media, once again cementing Obinna’s reputation for creating relatable, thought-provoking and entertaining content that keeps his audience talking.
