Police Inspector Charged with Murder of Dr Victoria Mutiso

Police Inspector Kenneth Kipkemboi Sang has been charged with the murder of Dr Victoria Nthunya Mutiso, who was fatally shot along Mawensi Road in Kilimani, Nairobi, on July 29, 2026.

Sang, who was arrested in Eldoret in connection with the killing, appeared before the Milimani High Court, where he was arraigned before Justice Alexander Muteti.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.

Following the plea-taking, the prosecution informed the court of its intention to oppose his release on bail, saying it would file an affidavit outlining the grounds for opposing the application.

Sang was subsequently remanded at Industrial Area Remand Prison pending further directions on his bail application. The case is scheduled for mention on November 30, 2026.

He becomes the fifth person to be charged in connection with Dr Mutiso’s murder. Others facing charges include Rose Mbithe Mulwa, her children Chris and Angela Mulwa, and Police Constables Julius Kipkoech Cheruiyot and Kennedy Kipkemoi Borboroi.

Investigations into the killing are ongoing, with detectives pursuing additional leads as the prosecution seeks to establish the circumstances surrounding the doctor’s death and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
