Police Recover Stolen Livestock In Turkana Following Cross-Border Raid

Kenyan security forces have successfully recovered livestock stolen during a cross-border raid that occurred on the night of June 25, 2025.

The incident began when Ugandan authorities reported that a group of suspected Turkana youths had crossed into Uganda and made away with cattle, herding the animals back toward the Kenyan border.

In a rapid response, officers from the National Police Service (NPS) launched a coordinated operation to intercept the suspects and recover the stolen livestock.

Security personnel strategically blocked possible escape routes and tracked the raiders across the rough terrain near the Kenya-Uganda border.

According to official reports, the operation culminated in an exchange of gunfire between the suspects and the security team.

The confrontation forced the armed raiders to abandon the stolen animals and flee the scene.
