Probe as 22-year-old man killed after fight at Nairobi lounge

A 22-year-old man was killed after a fight broke out at a lounge along Kamiti Road in Nairobi’s Kasarani area on Saturday morning.

The deceased, identified as Joseph Gachuhi Kaburu, was allegedly seriously assaulted by a bouncer following a confrontation at the Untitled Lounge and Garden.

According to police, the incident was reported by the manager of the establishment who said a man had entered the premises and appeared suspicious.

The man was reportedly questioned by a bouncer leading to a disagreement that escalated into a fight.

Police officers visited the scene and found Kaburu lying dead in the parking yard.

Police established that the bouncer had allegedly assaulted Kaburu during the confrontation.

The crime scene had, however, been interfered with after the area was washed before investigators arrived.

The bouncer was arrested and detained at the police station as investigations continued. Police said they are investigating murder.

Kaburu’s body was moved to the Nairobi City Funeral Home pending a postmortem examination.

Such incidents where revelers are attacked and seriously wounded or left for death in social joints have been on the rise amid investigations to address the trend.
