A 42-year-old woman was found dead after being assaulted by a suspect believed to be her husband in Rigoma village, Nyamira County.
Police said Nancy Ongeri was slashed to death in her house on October 30 after an altercation with her husband.
It is not clear what triggered the attack in Itongo village, police said.
Her body had deep cuts in the face, forehead, cheeks and chest. Locals said the two have been having domestic fights.
The assailant is believed to have escaped the scene soon after the murder.
Police said a hunt for the suspect is ongoing even as they appealed to him to surrender for grilling.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said.
Elsewhere in Magumu, Nyandarua County, a body of a child was spotted in a farm after a suspected murder along Naivasha Nakuru highway.
Police visited the scene and confirmed a young boy had been killed and the body was lying lifeless with its head severed.
The deceased was positively identified as a juvenile aged 11 years by his mother who told police he left home on October 29 to an unknown place only for his body to be discovered in a maize plantation the following day.
A two kilos of maize flour packet, some clothes and several empty carrier bags were also recovered at the scene while the body had no other physical injuries, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary for other procedures.
In Kabiyet, Nandi County, one Judas Kipkurgat, 33 was found dead after suspected murder.
His body lay on a tilled land and there was a visible stab wound on the left chest with blood oozing from the mouth, police said.
The motive of the murder was not known.
