Probe as woman is found dead at Bamburi club’s toilet in Mombasa County

Police are investigating the sudden death of an unidentified woman who collapsed after spending the night at a club in Bamburi, Kisauni Sub-County, Mombasa County.

Police said the incident was reported on Sunday at around 10:00am by the manager of Timez Lounge.

The manager told police that the woman had spent the night alone at the club drinking before passing out.

At around 5:00am, staff woke her up and she proceeded to the washroom, where she stayed for an unusually long time.

Concerned staff later checked on her and found her lying on the floor unconscious. She was rushed to Ace Northern Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police visited both the club and the hospital, where they found the body lying on a hospital bed.

Preliminary examination revealed no visible injuries on the body, and the deceased had no identification documents at the time.

The body was later moved to the Coast General Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting identification and a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.

The assailants are known in the area and according to the police, one of them is a jail bird.

The motive was not exactly established. Locals said they knew the assailants which prompted a hunt on them.
