Probe launched after bullet head is found on seat in BA flight to Nairobi

Detectives are investigating the source of an empty ammunition cartridge that was found on a seat of a British Airways flight that had arrived in Nairobi.

The plane had landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and the workers there were cleaning it when they stumbled on the bullet on a seat.

The bullet was handed to the local security officials for analysis and investigations, police said.

The plane had landed on Sunday October 26, 2025 with 292 passengers.

After cleaning and visiting the scene, the plane departed at about 11;45 pm, police said.

The 7.62 mm bullet was handed over to experts for ballistic analysis and further investigations.

The police want to establish the source and motive.

Passengers go through thorough screening before being allowed into such international flights.

There was no immediate comment from the airline on the saga. Officials at the airport said the matter is under probe.
