Road accidents along the Kilifi-Malindi highway and surrounding roads have continued to raise concern among Kenyans due to reckless overtaking, speeding, and increasing traffic during high-profile political events and holiday movements.

Kenga used the opportunity to thank family members, friends, supporters, and well-wishers who reached out with prayers and messages of encouragement shortly after news of the accident spread online.

“We are deeply grateful to God for His protection during this incident,”the statement read.

“Your solidarity has been invaluable, and we thank you sincerely,” he added.

The accident once again highlights the dangers Kenyan motorists face on major highways, particularly when drivers attempt risky overtaking maneuvers on narrow roads.

Authorities have repeatedly urged road users to exercise patience and caution to avoid fatal crashes.
