Celebrated sports journalist Abuller Ahmed has called it quits at Mediamax owned TV station K24.
Abuller announced his exit on the morning of Friday, August 15, 2025, through his official social media pages.
The young scribe thanked his colleagues and bosses at K24 for according him the much needed cooperation during his stint at the media house.

He did not disclose his next move but dropped hints that he is now a ‘#FreeAgent’.
Abuller also noted that he is aware of reports that he will be moving to a rival TV station but did not confirm or deny the same.
“ALHAMDULILLAH! Hakuna refu lisilo ncha. Wakati umewadia wa kutia nanga safari yangu ya utangazaji katika runinga ya K24, kwa miaka mitano nimejivunia Ufanisi mkubwa na ukomavu katika tasnia ya uanahabari, niliingia kama mwanahabari wa kawaida na hivi sasa naondoka nikiwa Mhariri. Nimefurahia kila dakika ninapopata fursa ya kuwasilisha ujumbe kwa watazamaji ambao wamekuwa waajiri wangu nambari 1. Kuanzia Taarifa za K24 Saa Moja / Wikendi, Jungu La Spoti na makala ambayo yatakuwa moyoni mwangu daima dawamu EPL Maskani, Asanteni Sana, Tukutane upande wa pili wa studio, Fununu za Uhamisho #FreeAgent,” he wrote.
His announcement disappointed most of his fans who camped on the comments section of his post to wish him all the best in his next endeavor.
Many disclosed that they will miss him dearly on K24 having being one of the finest sports news anchors and reporter at the station.

The journalist’s exit came barely hours after rumour mills went into overdrive with reports that Mediamax had reached the decision to shut down K24.
The reports, were however refuted by the station through an official statement sighted by this publication on social media.
Nairobi News understands Mediamax had laid off a sizeable number of its staff in early July 2025.
According to an internal memo, the staff were laid off over redundancy.
