Russian man Yaytseslav shuts down arrest rumour with new TikTok posts

A controversial Russian man, Yaytseslav, who has been accused online of taking advantage of African women sexually and exposing them on social media, has not been arrested as earlier alleged by a cross section of netizens.

Over the past few days, unconfirmed reports had circulated widely claiming that Yaytseslav had been arrested following a public outcry from women and men in Kenya, Ghana, and other African countries.

The outrage erupted after viral content linked to him showed women being filmed without clear consent and allegedly shared online for clout.

At the peak of the speculation, a random TikToker posted online that:

“A Russian man, Yaytseslav, was arrested in Tokyo after viral videos showed him boasting about sexual encounters with over 700 women in Kenya and Ghana through Meta glasses that went from casual meetups to hotel sessions, with many reportedly married.”

However, these reports now appear to be false.

Despite rumours that he had been detained, Yaytseslav has remained active on TikTok, continuing to upload new content as the online storm rages on.

His recent activity has cast serious doubt on claims that he was in police custody.

Notably, Yaytseslav made his latest post on Thursday, February 13, just hours after claims of his arrest began trending across social media platforms.

The timing of the post has been taken by many observers as a direct rebuttal to the arrest rumours, effectively shutting them down.

The controversy around Yaytseslav first gained traction after reports emerged that he had been using wearable recording devices, allegedly Meta smart glasses, to secretly film women he met in various African countries and later post the footage online.

The videos, which some netizens say crossed ethical and legal lines, sparked furious backlash and calls for authorities to intervene.

So far, no official statement has been released by law enforcement agencies in Kenya, Ghana, or Japan to confirm any arrest linked to the Russian national.

Until verified information emerges from authorities, the claims of his detention remain unproven, even as public pressure continues to mount for accountability over the alleged exploitation and non-consensual filming of women shared online.
