President William Ruto has congratulated Kenyan athlete Philimon Kiptoo Kipchumba following his spectacular victory at the Istanbul Marathon, where he set a new course record.
In a congratulatory message, Ruto praised Kipchumba for his outstanding performance, describing the victory as a demonstration of Kenya’s winning spirit and continued excellence in athletics.
The Head of State also congratulated fellow Kenyan athlete Vincent Kipyeogon Ronoh for securing third place in the race.
Ruto said the two athletes had made the country proud by flying the Kenyan flag high on the international stage.
Soy Member of Parliament David Kiplagat also celebrated Kipchumba’s achievement, wishing him continued success and greater accomplishments in his athletics career.
Kiplagat noted that the milestone was a significant achievement for the athlete and expressed hope that it would open doors to even greater opportunities.
The victory adds to Kenya’s strong reputation in international long-distance running, with Kenyan athletes continuing to demonstrate their dominance in major road races around the world.
