The Social Health Authority (SHA) and the Ministry of Roads and Transport have announced over 250 job openings across a wide range of professional, technical, and support roles.
The SHA, a State Corporation established under the Social Health Insurance Act, 2023, has opened recruitment for 64 senior and mid-level management positions.
This recruitment is part of the authority’s broader mandate to implement Kenya’s new social health insurance system and improve financial risk protection in the healthcare sector.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Roads and Transport, through its State Department for Roads, has announced over 180 vacancies in technical and vocational capacities aimed at bolstering road and infrastructure development.
Opportunities at the Social Health Authority
The SHA is seeking professionals to fill critical roles in leadership, finance, compliance, communication, and claims management. Key positions include:
- Directors in areas such as Provider and Beneficiary Management, Benefits & Claims Management, Corporate Services, and Internal Audit.
- Deputy Directors overseeing County Coordination, Legal Services, ICT, Finance, Supply Chain, and other core operational areas.
- Assistant Directors and Principal Officers across planning, HR, internal audit, customer experience, and claims management.
Applicants must meet the standards of Chapter Six of the Constitution and provide valid documentation from relevant government bodies including the DCI, KRA, HELB, EACC, and CRB.

- Artisans in motor vehicle mechanics, auto electricians, tailors, and spray painters.
- Instructors for plant operations and driver training.
- Cooks, Waiters, Security Wardens, and Drivers among other support roles.
