A section of Kenyans heaped praises on Bahati’s wife Diana Marua alias Diana B when she released her Bibi Ya Tajiri song.
Many lauded her for pushing herself to the limits with rap.
For many, she had done quite a good thing to honour late rapper E-Sir by using the instrumental for his song Saree in her own rendition.
However, many questions arose with many wondering if the content creator had been consented by E-Sir’s family and Ogopa Deejays to use the beat.

Well, emerging details have intimated that Diana B and her husband did not seek permission from the aforementioned parties to use the instrumental and are now risking a legal suit against them.
Nairobi News has learnt Ogopa Deejays, who produced the E-Sir’s song Saree have threatened to slap the Bahatis with a legal battle on copyright infringement.
According to entertainment scribe John Mosh Muchiri, who had a candid interview with Ogopa Deejays’ Lucas Bikedo, the couple did not seek permission to use the beat.
“This matter is headed to court. But for the details, everything is on strict confidentiality at the moment,” Lucas told Muchiri.
Muchiri disclosed that the Bahatis are yet to respond to the latest development.

Diana Marua’s song Bibi Ya Tajiri which was uploaded on YouTube about a month ago has so far accrued over 1.4 million views on the platform.
Diana Marua and Bahati face huge fines if found guilty in the copyright infringement case.
When Diana B dropped the song, it sparked mixed reactions online with some netizens liking it while others, the majority claimed he did not do justice to E-Sir by misusing his instrumental.
Quite a number of her critics held she should have used one of her husband’s instrumentals instead of dishonoring the legacy of E-Sir with crap disguised as a song.
