Popular Kenyan TikToker Nyakwar Janeko has reminisced about the moment she almost ‘unalived’ herself after correctly predicting the death of fellow TikToker Brian Chira.
Nyakwar recently disclosed that attacks from Kenyans following Chira’s untimely demise almost sent her to her early grave.
Speaking during a TikTok Live session on Saturday, February 21, Nyakwar Janeko revealed she received too much heat from netizens who unearthed her old videos, warning Chira about his lifestyle and subsequent consequences.
According to Janeko, she had cautioned Chira that his drinking could lead to his death if he did not stop immediately or control it.

She revealed that she had told Chira that Kenyans would end up visiting his village for his burial while in an intoxicated state during a Live session.
“When Chira died, I was so down. I even thought about taking poison to end my life because my voice went viral, and old videos of me warning him that if he didn’t stop drinking alcohol, we would bury him soon resurfaced,” she disclosed.
Nyakwar added that Kenyans pounced on her not long after Chira’s death, with many unravelling her old videos warning the deceased about his lifestyle choices.
“I remember once going live with him while I was drunk, and I gave him the tough words that if he didn’t stop drinking, we would come to his place to bury him,” Nyakwar Janeko stated.
According to the TikToker, the attacks that followed devastated her as people made her feel guilty, overwhelmed, and emotionally drained.
She noted that the criticism broke her terribly as she felt burdened by the viral videos and public reactions, and that she even thought of ending her own life.
“Just a few weeks later, he died. The videos of me saying that went viral, and I wished death upon myself because of it. I used to get on Facebook, and people would critique me harshly,” Nyakwar shared.
As earlier reported by a cross-section of the Kenyan media, Chira died on March 16, 2024, after a hit-and-run road accident around the Karuri area in Kiambu County.
Brian Chira was fatally knocked down by a speeding lorry at around 4.00 a.m. while walking home from a night out.
Post-mortem examination and results revealed that the TikToker succumbed to multiple injuries and blunt force trauma.
His death moved the entire country, with TikTokers being the worst hit.
