A 44-year-old man died after being attacked by two men in an altercation outside a bar in the Kyumbi area, Machakos County.
The deceased is said to have been engaged in a confrontation with two other men before he was fatally injured on Monday October 20, 2025 at night.
A guard at the bar witnessed the incident before Samual Mutinda collapsed and died at the scene.
The assailants escaped the scene, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Police said on Tuesday they were pursuing the said assailants.
Elsewhere in Banisa, Mandera County, one Mumad Mohamed Hussein Haji, 28 was shot and killed in an attack by gunmen.
The victim was grazing his father’s livestock when he was shot at close range in the chest and right arm.
The police suspect the assailants were on a retaliatory mission.
The body was moved to a local mortuary pending autopsy and burial. Police said no arrest had been made over the shooting.
Such attacks have been on the rise in the region over grazing fields and other scarce resources.
Police and a section of local elders are working to solve the saga.
And in Santon area, Kasarani, Nairobi, one Frankline Gatukuyi Waweru, 34 was found lying dead in a pool of blood after murder.
Police said the deceased who was a boda boda rider was attacked by the assailants he had carried and who had posed as pillion passengers.
The body had three deep cuts in the chest and shoulders.
The deceased had ferried a pillion passenger who was joined by others on two different motorcycles.
They then attacked the man stabbing him fatally before they escaped with his motorcycle.
Police were called to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
Cases where boda bodas are violently stolen from riders have been on the rise amid calls from police to cooperate with their attackers.
Police are investigating the incidents.
