The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has swept all three by-elections held on Thursday, clinching decisive victories in Mbeere North Constituency, Embu County, and Kabras Ward in Kakamega County.

In Mbeere North Constituency, UDA candidates secured two key ward seats in closely contested races, reaffirming the party’s growing grassroots influence in the region.

In Evurore Ward, UDA’s Duncan Muratia Nyaga was elected Member of County Assembly (MCA) after garnering 7,853 votes.

His closest challenger, Albert Muchira of the Democratic Party (DP), trailed with 1,940 votes, underscoring UDA’s commanding lead in the ward.

Party leaders hailed Muratia’s victory as a reflection of strong grassroots mobilization and pledged continued support as he takes up his new role representing the people of Evurore.

Meanwhile, in Muminji Ward, UDA’s Peterson Njeru emerged victorious after securing 3,201 votes in the by-election. Boniface Ngari of the DEB Party finished second with 2,232 votes.

In Kabras Ward, UDA’s Elphas Shalakha clinched the MCA seat after garnering 3,317 votes. He defeated Bramwel Khaemba of the Democratic Congress Party (DCP), who received 2,640 votes, while George Musini of the National Economic Development Party (NEDP) came third with 199 votes.

The Kabras by-election was closely watched as a test of party strength in Western Kenya. UDA’s win in the ward marks a significant inroad in the region, further consolidating the party’s presence beyond its traditional strongholds.
