A Member of the Nairobi County Assembly (MCA) was arrested alongside two other suspects over allegations of robbery with violence and malicious damage to property.
Police identified the MCA as Aaron Kang’ara Wangari, the elected representative for Viwandani Ward. He was arrested on Monday together with Kefa Munyoro and Zablon Kirima Mwangi.
According to police, the three are expected to be arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts.
The suspects are under investigation for robbery with violence contrary to Section 296(2) of the Penal Code, as well as malicious damage to property.
Police said the three remain in custody pending their court appearance, where they are expected to face the charges.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged offences were not immediately disclosed, and the suspects remain innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Last month, detectives arrested Utawala Ward MCA Patrick Karani and two other men over allegations of mobilising groups ahead of the planned June 25, 2026 Gen Z demonstrations.
According to police, officers arrested Karani at his office at Roosters along Thika Superhighway.
He was reportedly in the company of Stanley Njogu and Stephen Kimathi.
Police allege that intelligence reports linked the trio to the mobilisation of individuals through various social media platforms in preparation for the planned demonstrations.
