Why Can’t I See My Reposts on TikTok?

TikTok’s repost feature allows users to share interesting content with their followers, but many users find it difficult to track or view their reposted videos. If you’re wondering why your reposts are not visible, several technical and design-related factors may be at play.

Reposts Don’t Appear on Your Profile Grid

Unlike your original videos, TikTok does not show reposted content on your main profile video grid. When you repost a video, it gets pushed to your followers’ For You pages but doesn’t appear in your publicly visible content list. This is by design, as TikTok wants to maintain the distinction between original uploads and reshared content. As a result, you might feel like your reposts have disappeared, even though they are still being circulated.

Missing Repost Tab or Inactive Feature

TikTok occasionally introduces a “Reposts” tab on user profiles, where reposted videos are grouped together. However, this feature is not always visible to all users. If the tab is missing, it could be because your account hasn’t received the feature update or you haven’t reposted enough content for the tab to appear. In some cases, the feature may be region-specific or limited to users participating in app testing.

Original Video Was Removed or Made Private

If the creator of a video you reposted deletes it, makes it private, or limits sharing, your repost will automatically disappear. TikTok does not save reposts independently. This means that your repost is only active as long as the original video remains public and available. If it’s taken down for any reason, it vanishes from the platform entirely—including from your account history.

App or Cache Issues

Sometimes, TikTok may fail to display reposts due to temporary glitches or caching problems within the app. If you suspect a bug, try clearing your cache from the TikTok settings, restarting the app, or even reinstalling it. These steps can help refresh your account data and fix minor display issues that prevent reposts from appearing.

Your Repost Settings May Be Off

TikTok allows users to turn the repost feature on or off. If you have accidentally disabled the feature, your reposts may not be functioning as expected. Go to your settings and privacy section, then review your repost permissions under content preferences to ensure the feature is enabled.
