A 62-year-old man was found dead after a fire flattened his house in Gatugi village, Nyeri County.
Police said the man was alone when the fire broke out on New Year’s Day dawn. The cause of the fire was not established.
Locals said Eliud Gikara was sleeping when the fire broke out flattening his three roomed house.
The body was later picked up to the local mortuary pending an autopsy.
And a man died after falling from the third floor of a building in Withethie area, Juja, Kiambu County.
His body was found on the ground floor of the apartment. Police believe he intended to commit a burglary when he slipped and fell off from the balcony of the third floor on Thursday dawn.
He had climbed through a perimeter wall to the third floor when he fell off. Police said a harmer was found in his pocket at the time of the incident.
Guards on duty said they heard a loud bang from the scene and on checking they found the man lying motionless.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an identification and autopsy.
And police in Bondo, Siaya County are investigating an incident where a man was found dead in front of a guest house.
Officials at Oji Guest House said they found the body of Victor Kingori, 23 was found lying at the entrance of the premises long after the incident had happened. It had a visible cut on the right face and a stab wound in the chest.
A blood-stained kitchen knife lay next to the body with a six-kilo gas cylinder. The motive of the murder was not known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said.
Police are investigating murder in the incident.
