In a continued push to make Nairobi cleaner and greener, the Nairobi City County Government’s Environment Department conducted extensive garbage collection operations across several locations today.
The clean-up drive, which targeted high-traffic zones including City Park Market, Gitanga Road, Burma Market, Juja Road, and Eastleigh Section 1, is part of Governor Sakaja’s broader initiative to enhance urban hygiene and waste management across the city.
The garbage collection across the city not only aims to improve sanitation but also to promote environmental sustainability and public health.

The area residents and business owners welcomed the effort, noting visible improvements in cleanliness and timely garbage collection to avoid the garbage heaps.
“This is a great initiative by Nairobi County government under the leadership of Governor Sakaja for a cleaner Nairobi,” said Daudi Mugo, vendor at Juja Road, Eastleigh section 1.
He called on the authorities to sustain the drive.
“We hope these garbage collection efforts continue regularly.”
The Nairobi County government urges the city residents to cooperate by disposing of waste responsibly and supporting ongoing environmental initiatives.
