Prince Alwaleed bin Khalid bin Talal Al Saud, went into a coma following a traumatic brain injury from a car accident in 2005 while studying at a military college in the UK.
He was born in April 1990 and was considered an exceptional student before the accident.
His condition remained largely unchanged over the two decades, sustained by life support with feeding tubes and mechanical ventilation.
His family, especially his father Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, firmly refused to remove life support despite medical recommendations in 2015, holding onto hope for a miraculous recovery.
Alwaleed showed minimal signs of limited awareness in 2019, such as small gestures like lifting a finger or turning his head, but never regained full consciousness.
