Oga Obinna awarded Sh6 million in defamation case Alagainst Massawe Japanni and Black Cinderella

Content creator and comedian Oga Obinna has won a major legal battle after a Nairobi court ruled in his favor in a defamation case against Radio Africa Group, radio host Massawe Japanni, and socialite Black Cinderella.

The ruling was delivered by the Milimani Commercial Magistrates Court, which found that the three parties had made and aired false statements that damaged Obinna’s reputation both personally and professionally.

On Wednesday, November 5, Obinna took to social media to celebrate the victory, posting court documents confirming that he had been awarded Sh6.1 million in compensation.

The comedian could not hide his joy, thanking his lawyer, Willis Otieno, for successfully representing him.

He also joked about how he planned to spend the money.

“6 Million easy🥳🥳🥳💯… Major shout out to my lawyer Wakili Willis Otieno. I now have money to lay the foundation of my house. We are building this house using haters’ money,” he wrote.

According to Obinna, the case began about a year ago after Black Cinderella made defamatory remarks about him during an interview on Massawe Japanni’s show on Radio Jambo.

He says the comments were baseless and published without any attempt to confirm the truth, which led to character assassination and public trolling.

He added that despite the serious claims made against him, the station chose to air the interview without demanding evidence.

“Masawe had been my colleague. She could have just asked me, but she didn’t,” he said.

Obinna explained that the situation affected his brand and reputation, leading him to seek legal action.

He also issued a warning to social media users who casually insult or defame others online:

“Keep insulting and defaming people online without evidence. One by one, you will pay.”

Following the ruling, Black Cinderella responded through a video shared online.

In it, she claimed she was not stressed by the court decision and said she might declare herself bankrupt since she supposedly owns no property.
