They are even more special when both partners love each other to the moon and back.
This is something Radio 47 presenter and YouTuber Alex Mwakideu can confidently attest to, having enjoyed such a bond for over a decade.
On Saturday, December 27, Mwakideu took to social media to shower his wife, Dee Mbela, with love and affection as the couple marked 11 years of marriage and 19 years of romance since they first met.
In a post sighted by Nairobi News, Mwakideu shared three photos of himself looking loved-up alongside Dee, accompanied by a lengthy romantic caption.
In his message, the media personality noted that Dee is not only his wife but also his friend, confidant, the mother of their children, and his lifetime partner.
According to the radio host, his wife endured all the hard times in their lives, stood by him through it all, and ultimately helped shape him into a better person.
“11 years since we officially became husband and wife.
19 years since the day I first met you.
God knows I would not have chosen anyone else to do this life with. From the moment I saw you, I saw us.
I saw a friend. I saw a confidant.
I saw love, stability, and a safe home.
I saw the mother of my children.
I saw my wife, my lifetime partner.
Nineteen years later, I am still endlessly proud of that choice. Wewe Mariamu wangu, umekuwa nami wakati wa dhoruba na kiangazi, wakati wa dhiki na faraja. Haujawahi kutikisika, mpenzi wangu. Umekuwa nguzo yangu, baraka yangu, na nyumbani kwangu. Today, as we celebrate 11 years of marriage, I celebrate you, my wife. I thank God for this precious gift, because I prayed and He answered,” he wrote.
He concluded his post with a prayer, asking God to continue protecting his marriage and loved ones.
“Mungu Baba, itunze ndoa yetu. Leo, kesho, na hata milele 🤍,” he added.
Nairobi News understands that Mwakideu and his wife Dee have been together for over a decade and share three daughters.
The couple has continued to set relationship goals online, often sharing moments from exotic trips and inspiring family time, proving that marriage works, especially when you find the right partner.
