Former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta may have a busy schedule but will always create time for his family and the people he loves the most.
The former Head Of State, on Saturday, December 27, dropped everything in his tight schedule to attend the wedding of his nephew Jomo Gecaga and his wife, former TV girl Lola Hannigan.
Nairobi News has learnt Jomo and Lola officiated their union on the aforementioned date in a low key wedding that saw the attendance of family members, friends and close acquaintances.
The wedding, which was held at a yet to be disclosed location was attended by the country’s creme de la creme including Uhuru Kenyatta, his mother Mama Ngina, Keroche Breweries Heiress Anerlisa Muigai among a host of other moneyed Kenyans.
In a video shared on Instagram story by Anerlisa Muigai, Jomo and Lola were captured taking photos moments after exchanging their vows.
Uhuru Kenyatta Attends Nephew’s Wedding
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was also captured, upbeat, standing next to his nephew, who could not stop talking to him and making jokes with him.
In front of them was Uhuru’s mother, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, who looked elegant in a yellow gown, a huge beige hat and a white pearl necklace around her neck.
In attendance was also several Caucasians from Kenyatta’s United Kingdom’s family who showed up in large numbers to support Jomo as he officiated his union with Lola.
Photos from the ceremony made rounds on social media, attracting the attention of many netizens who congratulated the couple on their nuptials as they teased Uhuru Kenyatta’s attendance.
Private Jomo Gecaga
Jomo Gecaga, despite his high-profile family connections has continued to maintain a low-profile lifestyle, keeping his children’s lives private and away from social media.
Nairobi News understands Jomo and Lola have three children together.
Their last child brings Jomo’s total number of children to six, including a child with Valentine Njoroge and twins with former KTN news anchor Anne Kiguta.
