Detectives have arrested another suspect in connection with the deadly violence and destruction that rocked a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) delegates’ meeting at Nembure Grounds in Embu on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

The suspect was apprehended in Kithimu area of Embu town during a coordinated operation involving officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Headquarters Operations Support Team (OAT) and the Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Branch (CRIB).

The arrest comes as investigators widen their probe into the unrest, with detectives pursuing other individuals suspected of taking part in the violence.

The DCI said its officers were following leads aimed at identifying everyone who participated in the incidents and bringing them to account.

“Detectives have intensified efforts to identify and apprehend other suspects believed to have participated in the violence,” the DCI said.

The investigative agency maintained that those responsible would face justice regardless of their political affiliations, motivations or allegiances.

The agency further warned that anyone found to have participated in the violence would be arrested and prosecuted.
