The three-day conference, themed “Pharmacists Leading Transformation and Innovation Towards the Highest Attainable Standards of Health,” has attracted more than 800 delegates and stakeholders from across the health sector.
Speaking during the opening session, Duale emphasized the critical role pharmacists play in strengthening Kenya’s healthcare system and advancing the country’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda.
“The conference provides an important platform for health professionals to assess progress, address emerging challenges and identify practical solutions that will improve healthcare services for all Kenyans,” Duale said.
Participants are expected to engage in a series of high-level discussions focusing on pharmaceutical innovation, patient safety, access to medicines and strategies aimed at enhancing healthcare outcomes.
According to organizers, the annual gathering seeks to foster collaboration among healthcare practitioners, policymakers, researchers and industry players as the country works towards achieving higher standards of health service delivery.
“The theme reflects the growing role of pharmacists in driving transformation and innovation within the health sector,” organizers noted.
The conference will also examine emerging trends in pharmaceutical practice, technological advancements in healthcare and the contribution of pharmacists to the successful implementation of Universal Health Coverage.
