Controversial songstress Akothee has been admitted at the hospital after falling I’ll, Nairobi News has learnt.
This publication has learnt that Akothee started feeling unwell about two months ago but has been acting strong just but to honour her calendar of events.
The singer, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, took to social media to share the sad news with her fans and followers.

Akothee posted a photo of herself in a hospital bed and another one showing her busy schedule and went on to open about her health struggles.
According to Akothee, she has not been feeling well for a minute, including the time when she made an appearance during the Devolution Conference held in Homa-bay County.
She disclosed that her illness got even worse while she was sitting for her exams, forcing her to be admitted at a yet to be disclosed hospital.
Akothee noted that she had been surviving on painkillers and muscle relaxers just to honour her pending activities on her events calendar.
“Life so private that you all don’t know I have been admitted since Monday. Pushed myself too much. Been carrying this pain for two months ,I drastically felt an attack in my second paper where the paper went blank and felt like vomiting, in Homa Bay I was surviving on pain killers and muscle relaxers. I had to finalise that calendar you see down there. RATEGO NI PINY KAWUONO. I wanted to go home today but got another attack. Hope you all keeping well 🙏,” she wrote.

Akothee Claps Back At Critics After Attack On Her Dress Code
The news touched the hearts of her fans who thronged the comments section of her post to wish her a quick recovery.
Her admission to the hospital comes barely a fortnight after she made headlines with her dress code.
As earlier reported by Nairobi News, Akothee was among guests invited for the launch of the Devolution Conference held in Home-bay county.
The musician caused a melee at the event after hitting the podium rocking a revealing pair of rights and a trench coat leaving acres of her skin exposed.
Her choice of dressing for the event irked a multitude of netizens who accessed videos of herself from the event.
Many called her out for not dressing according to her age.
In a quick rejoinder, Akothee clapped back at her critics insisting she did not ask anyone to be her role model.
She noted that she will wear whatever she wants whenever she feels like.
