Singer Bahati has shared with his fans and Kenyans the progress of his reunion with a woman alleging to be his biological mother.
On Wednesday, February 11, Bahati posted a video of himself talking to the woman who had earlier come out claiming to be his mum.
In a video posted on Bahati’s official Instagram page, the singer addressed the issue and even went ahead to call the lady and book an appointment with her.
“A couple of weeks ago, an issue emerged. A woman claimed she was my mother. I did not want to address it, and people thought it was a publicity stunt. But after three days of trying to trace the woman, I finally got her number. Let me call her so that we can find out the truth. But it is surprising because I am Kamba and the lady is Luhya,” Bahati said.
The musician then went ahead to call the woman as he recorded the video while in his car.
During the conversation, the woman heartily apologised to Bahati, calling him her son.
The lady, a resident of Kibra, informed Bahati that she is currently in Eregi, near Kakamega, where she had gone to admit the star’s ‘step-sister’ to school.
After a few minutes of conversation, Bahati and the woman agreed to meet on Friday to get to the root of the allegations.

The singer even promised to send her transport fare back to Nairobi for their meeting.
The latest development unfolded about one month after Bahati publicly disowned the woman, claiming she is not his mother.
In a post seen by Nairobi News on the evening of Tuesday, December 12, the Mama hitmaker reminded fans that his mother passed away 25 years ago.
According to the singer, he personally attended her burial and confirmed her passing after seeing her grave.
He added that the woman’s claims left him just as confused as everyone else.
“🥹🥹🥹 But my mum died over 25 years ago. I personally attended the burial and witnessed her grave 💔💔💔 This woman has confused me even more. So what should I do??? 🙆♂️🙆♂️🙆♂️” he wrote.
The saga began after a video circulated on social media showing an elderly woman pleading with the star to forgive her and reach out.
The woman alleged that she is the singer’s biological mother and gave him up to a children’s home due to financial constraints.
She went on to say that seeing him on television compelled her to come forward publicly, insisting she has information to back up her claims.
Her revelation stunned many netizens, especially since the musician has long been known to have grown up as an orphan.
