A boda boda rider was killed and robbed of his motorcycle in Aram, Rarieda, Siaya County.
He was identified as George Ouma, 28. His body had stab wounds when it was discovered on Wednesday in the area, police said.
Police said the rider had picked up pillion passengers headed for Lwak when he was attacked on Wednesday dawn.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
Such incidents have been on the rise in both urban and rural areas. Police advise riders to always cooperate with their attackers.
In Diani, Kwale County, police are investigating an incident where two British tourists were robbed of valuables.
The two were in a cottage at one of the hotels there when the incident happened on Thursday dawn. One of them said he lost a HP laptop valued at 1,000 British Pounds, an Iphone 11 and a bag while the second one lost a camera, an Ipad, headphones and Sh7,000.
The two were sleeping and woke up to find the rooms ransacked. Police are investigating the incident.
In Turkana, police are investigating an incident where a member of the National Police Reserve was robbed of his AK47 rifle in an attack by security guards attached to a local Member of Parliament. The gang also robbed the NPR of Sh10,000 and mobile phone.
The NPR reported the gang had also injured his wife in the drama.
Police said they are investigating the robbery and motive.
Elsewhere in Piny Oyie, Migori County, police on a mission to arrest a suspect for threatening to kill and malicious damage lost a magazine to their G3 rifle after being attacked by a mob in a drama.
The suspect managed to escape in the Wednesday drama. A mob turned violent and attacked the home of the complainant torching it and slashed his crops.
This was after an alarm was raised as the police officers arrived there. The four police officers had to hide from the angry mob and sought help to be rescued.
Police said they are investigating the attack and were searching for the missing magazine that had 20 bullets.
In Rongo, police recovered a handcuff from a suspect in an operation. The suspect was said to be armed and efforts to recover the weapon were ongoing Friday, police said.
