British boxer Anthony Joshua is lucky to be alive after surviving a grisly road accident during his visit to Nigeria.
Nairobi News has learned that Joshua was involved in the accident on the afternoon of Monday, December 29, along the Ogun–Lagos State Expressway.
According to reports from Nigeria, the boxer suffered minor injuries and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
Police reports have confirmed that two people lost their lives in the incident.

Pictures and video footage of the heavyweight boxer sitting topless at the back of a car, surrounded by what appears to be broken glass, have since gone viral online.
In the videos, which were captured at the scene of the accident, the 36-year-old boxer can be seen grimacing as he attempts to exit the wrecked vehicle.
Eyewitnesses reported that Joshua was in the back seat of a vehicle when it collided with a stationary truck.
“Joshua was seated behind the driver, with another person beside him,” one Adeniyi Orojo told Nigerian newspaper The Punch.
“There was also a passenger sitting beside the driver, making four occupants in the Lexus that crashed. His security detail was in the vehicle behind them before the crash,” he added.
News of the accident sent shockwaves online, with countless people taking to various social media platforms to wish Joshua a quick recovery.
Joshua had earlier posted a video on his Instagram showing him playing table tennis with another man hours before the accident.
The former heavyweight world champion had been spending time in Nigeria following his recent fight with Jake Paul on December 19.
It is important to note that Joshua has family roots in Sagamu, a town in Ogun State, south-west Nigeria, and had visited them for the Christmas holiday.
