Decomposed female body discovered in a bush in Tetu, Nyeri County


Detectives are investigating the discovery of a female body in a bush in Ithekahuno, Gichira, Tetu, Nyeri County.

The body was decomposed when it was discovered on February 12, 2026, police said.

The body was not immediately identified and was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

In Fafi, Garissa County, one Yakub Kenadhid, 40 was found dead under a tree. The body had no signs of injuries when it was discovered and later moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

In Lamu, a human skeleton was discovered in a garden. A gardener said he was working at the site when he stumbled on the skeleton. It was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.

Elsewhere in Vigurungani, Kwale County, two suspects were stoned to death after they were found escorting four bulls that had been reported stolen in the area.

Police said the incident happened in Kafichoni area and that the bulls were later identified by the owner.

The two suspects were stoned to death and their bodies set on fire.

Police arrived at the scene and moved the bodies to the mortuary pending an autopsy. They had been identified as Chigumba Mudune, 21 and Tsuma Munyambu.

In Ithanga, Muranga County, one man was killed and another one was left with serious injuries in a mob lynching incident.

The incident happened in the Ngati area and the two were accused of being thieves before they were attacked on February 12 evening.

The body of the deceased was moved to the mortuary while the injured was rushed to the hospital in a serious condition.

Police discourage mob lynching and want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing and prosecution.

Statistics show up to four cases are reported daily separately in the country. Police have termed the trend as worrying and demanded suspects to be surrendered to authorities for action.
