Geoffrey Mosiria exposes daring woman selling chang’aa at busy Nairobi roundabout


Nairobi County’s Environment Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has won praises on social media after busting a fearless woman selling illicit brew at a popular Nairobi roundabout.

Kenyans on social media lauded Mosiria for his efforts in transforming Nairobi by bringing positive change to the society.

Nairobi News has learnt that Mosiria on Thursday, September 18, 2025, disrupted a lady selling chang’aa at the Taj Mall roundabout in Embakasi South and exposed her for poisoning Nairobi residents with the illicit brew.

According to the county official, he was busy closing down an illegal dump site in the area when a concerned member of the public pointed him to the lady selling chang’aa.

He disclosed that the lady had been flanked by drunkards who had visited her for their daily dose when he arrived at the scene.

However, the lady bolted upon seeing Mosiria, accompanied by police officers approaching her.

“Today, while on environmental supervision at Taj Mall Roundabout in Embakasi South, where we cleared and closed an illegal dumping site, a concerned member of the public alerted me about a lady who was openly selling illicit brew, surrounded by many wasted drunkards who should have been engaged in constructive activities. On seeing us, she immediately fled,” he wrote on Facebook.

Well, the environment chief officer used the opportunity to create public awareness on the dangers of illicit brews to the drunkards and other passersby.

He also called on relevant bodies to take action against the lady and her counterparts and bring sanity along the busy Nairobi road.

“I took the opportunity to create awareness among the public on the dangers of illicit brews and their harmful impact on our communities. I call upon the relevant authorities, including the police, to be on the ground and ensure this vice is brought to an end,” he added.

His revelation and subsequent action impressed many Nairobians who congratulated him for the good work he has been doing.
