TikTok has become one of the most popular platforms for sharing short and engaging videos. While many users record videos directly within the app, you may also want to upload videos you have already created and saved in your phone’s gallery. Whether it’s a pre-recorded clip, a video edited using other apps, or a memory you want to share, TikTok makes it easy to upload directly from your gallery.
Step 1: Open the TikTok App
Start by launching the TikTok app on your smartphone. Make sure you are logged into your account. If you don’t have one yet, you’ll need to create an account first.
Step 2: Tap the Plus (+) Icon
At the bottom center of the screen, tap the “+” button. This is the main feature that allows you to create or upload content on TikTok.
Step 3: Select “Upload”
Instead of recording a new video, choose the “Upload” option located at the bottom-right corner of the recording screen. This will open your phone’s gallery or camera roll.
Step 4: Choose the Video from Your Gallery
Browse through your gallery and select the video you want to upload. TikTok allows you to select one video or even combine multiple clips together.
Step 5: Trim and Edit the Video
Once selected, you can trim your video to fit TikTok’s time limits. You can also adjust the order of clips if you’re combining more than one.
Step 6: Add Music, Effects, and Text
TikTok offers a wide range of editing tools. You can:
- Add background music from TikTok’s library.
- Insert text, stickers, or filters.
- Apply special effects to make your video more engaging.
These features help your video stand out and connect with a wider audience.
Step 7: Write a Caption and Add Hashtags
After editing, tap “Next.” Here, you’ll be able to write a catchy caption, tag friends, and add hashtags that increase the reach of your video. You can also adjust privacy settings—choosing who can view, comment, or share your video.
Step 8: Post Your Video
Finally, tap “Post.” Your video will now be uploaded from your gallery to TikTok, ready for others to watch, like, and share.
Tips for Better Uploads
- Ensure your video is clear and high-quality for maximum engagement.
- Use trending sounds and hashtags to increase visibility.
- Keep your video within TikTok’s supported file formats (MP4 or MOV).
- Make sure the video is within the length limits (up to 10 minutes).
