Revered media personality Jeff Koinange is alive, contrary to allegations and speculation circulating on social media.
The clarification was made by Koinange’s former social media manager, Xtian Dela, who reached out to the veteran journalist after reports of his alleged death went viral.
Dela later shared screenshots of their conversation online to dispel the rumours.

Nairobi News understands that Koinange has been off air from his prime-time news programme and his popular interview show, Jeff Koinange Live (JKL), since August 2025.
Neither Citizen TV nor Koinange has issued an official statement regarding his absence.
His prolonged break has fuelled speculation, with some claiming he had been hospitalised, while others spread false rumours that he had passed away.
The death hoax unsettled those close to the journalist, prompting many to reach out for confirmation.
Among them was Xtian Dela, who sent a concerned WhatsApp message on the evening of Sunday, November 23.
“Bro bro bro! You’re good? You’re safe? Bro, TikTok has me worried. Spreading about your death… Just confirm you’re still here. Bro? Bro?….”
On Monday, November 24, Koinange responded, assuring Dela, and the public, that he was perfectly fine.
