Kindiki Holds Bilateral Talks with St Vincent and the Grenadines PM on Trade, Energy and Healthcare

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has held bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Godwin Friday, focusing on strengthening cooperation in trade, renewable energy, healthcare and hospitality.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed areas of mutual interest, with Kenya committing to support St Vincent and the Grenadines in developing renewable energy capacity and providing skilled personnel to strengthen its healthcare and hospitality sectors.

The discussions also explored opportunities to increase Kenyan exports to the Caribbean country, particularly tea, coffee, chilled avocados and cut flowers.

The proposed trade cooperation is expected to create new market opportunities for Kenyan farmers, agricultural exporters and businesses while strengthening commercial relations between the two countries.

During the engagement, Kindiki thanked Friday for supporting Professor Phoebe Okowa’s election to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), following her successful re-election for a nine-year term running from 2027 to 2036.

The Deputy President also presented Kenya’s candidature for Supreme Court Judge Lady Justice Njoki Ndung’u, who is seeking election to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the 2027–2036 term, and requested St Vincent and the Grenadines’ support.

Kenya’s campaign for Ndung’u is part of its broader diplomatic efforts to strengthen the country’s participation in international judicial institutions.
