Tech giant Meta Platforms Inc. has unveiled a new strategy to lure top digital creators back to Facebook, offering monthly payments of up to Sh400,000 in a move that signals intensifying competition in the creator economy.
The initiative, dubbed the “Creator Fast Track” program, is specifically designed to attract influencers who have built large audiences on rival platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
Meta is targeting both newcomers to Facebook and creators who may have shifted their focus away from the platform in recent years.

Lucrative Payout Structure
Under the program, creators are guaranteed monthly earnings based on the size of their following on competing platforms.
Those with more than one million followers stand to earn up to $3,000 (approximately Sh400,000) per month, while creators with at least 100,000 followers can receive around $1,000 (about Sh130,000).
There is also a lower earnings tier ranging between $100 and $450 (roughly Sh13,000 to Sh60,000) for creators with audiences between 20,000 and 99,000 followers, making the program accessible to mid-level influencers.
Strict Participation Requirements
To qualify for the payouts, creators must maintain consistent activity on Facebook. Participants are required to publish at least 15 eligible Reels within a 30-day cycle, with the content spread across a minimum of 10 different days.
While the content does not need to be exclusive to Facebook, it must be original.
Meta allows the use of AI-generated material, provided it is created by the participant and not recycled from other sources.
However, the program’s reach remains limited for now, as eligibility is restricted to creators based in the United States and Canada.
Additionally, the guaranteed payments are only offered for a maximum period of three months, suggesting the initiative is meant to kickstart engagement rather than serve as a long-term salary model.
Extra Incentives Beyond Cash
Beyond the guaranteed income, Meta is sweetening the deal with added perks. Creators enrolled in the program benefit from boosted visibility, giving their Reels higher reach across Facebook’s algorithm.
They also gain immediate access to the platform’s monetization tools, allowing them to earn additional revenue through ads and performance-based payouts tied to content views.

Strategic Push In The Creator Economy
The launch of the Creator Fast Track program underscores Meta’s aggressive push to reclaim relevance in the highly competitive short-form video space, where platforms like TikTok and YouTube have dominated user attention.
By offering upfront cash incentives alongside long-term earning opportunities, Meta is positioning Facebook as a viable alternative for creators looking to diversify their income streams and expand their audiences.
Interested creators can check their eligibility through the Professional Dashboard on Facebook, as Meta continues to roll out the program in select markets.
