Netizens enraged as elderly man brandishes gun at alleged son-in-law: “Wapi police?”


Kenyans on social media have expressed outrage after a viral video surfaced showing an elderly man brandishing a pistol at a man alleged to be his son-in-law.

The clip, which has since made rounds across various platforms, captures a tense confrontation that appears to have spiraled out of control, underscoring that not all in-law relationships are as cordial as expected.

While the exact date and location of the incident remain unclear, the footage shows a visibly distressed lad seated in the backseat of a vehicle pleading with the elderly man to let them leave.

According to the victim, the aggressor and his family had allegedly barred him from seeing his children.

Despite the younger man’s calm tone, the attacker, believed to be his father-in-law, could be seen brandishing a firearm while ordering the group out of his compound.

It remains uncertain whether the elderly man is a licensed gun holder.

Nonetheless, his actions have sparked widespread condemnation online, with many Kenyans demanding that the police intervene.

Hundreds of social media users have since tagged the National Police Service, urging officers to investigate the incident and take appropriate action against the oppressor for what they described as reckless misuse of a firearm and harassment.

“This is unacceptable! Wapi police?” one user wrote, echoing the sentiments of many angered by the viral video.

As of now, authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
