Authorities in Machakos County have launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a bodaboda rider whose body was discovered near Masokani Trading Centre on Thursday morning.
According to traffic police officers, the lifeless body was found lying close to a bridge along the Kenol-Komarock road, raising concerns of possible foul play.
“The deceased had visible injuries, including a broken leg,” police confirmed, adding that no motorcycle or personal belongings were found at the scene.
Witnesses in the area reported hearing a commotion the previous night but did not immediately investigate.
Residents suspect the rider may have been attacked elsewhere and his body dumped near the bridge under the cover of darkness.
The body has since been transferred to the Machakos Level 5 Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have joined the probe, and authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
