Former nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has once again found herself at the center of online criticism, this time following the launch of a liquor store in Tanzania.
Nairobi News has learned that Omanga is currently in Tanzania, where she has been conducting private business activities, including the grand opening of a liquor outlet.
On Sunday, November 30, Omanga shared several photos on social media showing her cutting the ribbon alongside other dignitaries to officially open Whiskey Hub Oysterbay in Dar es Salaam.
In her post, the politician introduced the liquor store and expressed gratitude to Isaac Njenga for attending the launch.

“Whiskey Hub Oysterbay Dar es Salaam officially opened its doors. What a grand opening success, honored by the presence of H.E. Isaac Njenga,” she wrote.
It remains unclear whether Omanga owns the store or was merely an invited guest, but the event has sparked a wave of mixed reactions online.
Some social media users congratulated her on the milestone, praising her for representing Kenya abroad.
Others focused on her appearance, complimenting her elegance during the launch.
However, a significant number of netizens criticized the move.
Many accused Omanga of leading a double life, preaching about God on social media while promoting alcohol consumption elsewhere.
Others suggested that the money used to open the store could have been misappropriated from public funds during her tenure as a nominated Senator.
Some Tanzanians also joined the criticism, urging her either to close the store or relocate it to Kenya.

Some reactions include:
Dennoh Omwenga:
“Not Godly.”
Charles Okal:
“Mmatuibia pesa kupeleka TZ. Kitaeleweka.”
Tim Cahill:
“Mama suluhu,,, mbona kuruhusu vileo kwa nchi yako… 😃”
A random Tanzanian said:
“Watu wanahuzunika na wa Kenya munaleta ma pombe zenu. Mutafunga tu karibuni.”
Saili Saili:
“Alafu unakuja kutudanganya ati Jah Jah… nijikute!”
